Entry Level German Luxury Sedans

With so many luxury sedans available on the market today, it can be difficult picking out the right one for you. Often times when people look for a luxury car they turn to the german automakers such as BMW, Mercedes and Audi. Depending on your age, income level and needs, certain cars will be right for you while others not so much. For a recent college grad or someone that just got their first entry level job, you wouldn’t want to go buy a brand new Mercedes S550, or a BMW 7 series just because of the cost of maintaining these vehicles. There are entry level luxury sedans that are perfect for those looking to purchase their first luxury car without spending an arm and a leg. The first car maker on our list which offers an entry level luxury sedan is Mercedes. Their C Class has remained a popular choice for those looking for an affordable yet enjoyable Mercedes. Recently, they introduced their CLA class which is one level lower than the C Class. The CLA250 starts off at $32,050 which is the most affordable Mercedes available in the US. Mercedes equipped the CLA with a 2.0L turbocharged engine which produces around 208 horsepower and gets up to 38 mpg. The car makes for a great first luxury sedan for those looking for comfort, fuel efficiency and ownership of a Mercedes-Benz. Next up is the BMW 2 series which is another German vehicle and one of the biggest competitors to Mercedes-Benz. The BMW 2 series starts off at $32,850 and is currently the most affordable BMW available in the US market. The vehicle comes with a 2.0L turbocharged engine just like Mercedes and produces up to 240 horsepower on the base model. With the extra horsepower, the BMW 2 Series is slightly faster than Mercedes CLA250 but loses in fuel efficiency slightly since it only gets 35 mpg. Last on our list would be the Audi A3. This car starts off at just $30,900 making it the most affordable of the 3. The base model of the A3 comes with a 1.8L engine which like the other two vehicles, is also turbocharged. Producing 170 horsepower, the Audi A3 is able to get up to 33 mpg which puts it slightly behind the Mercedes and BMW in performance and fuel efficiency. Since auto makers are now starting to focus on entry level vehicles which are more affordable and fuel efficient, consumers have many more choices when picking out their first luxury car. When you’re purchasing a new luxury sedan and looking for German brands, make sure to consider these three choices before driving off with your new vehicle!
